Elatha (Greece), 2018.

This project inspired by a need of scenery change and to gain a further sense of connectedness to my heritage.  Being 2nd generation Greek Australian and having recently lost all grandparents It felt very important that I visited Athens especially to not only connect to a part of me that felt lost but also to physically connect to the historical artefacts that inspire my work. Making vessels similarly to that of my ancestors help me explore my cultural identity.
With a new body of work in mind once i returned back to Australia, the Skoepelos foundation for the arts gave me the most idyllic environment to be inspired by and to experiment in.

Supported by The Australian Council for the arts.
